Played this course with Bill Zirbel and Brett (only time played with Bill). Located on Whidby Island and not too far from their place on Biz Point in Anacortes...Also near the Naval Air Station in Oak Harbor ...where Bill was the head Commandant for a number of years...Went to his induction ceremony with Don and Florence in attendance...Later in the day got to go on a jet Simulator (fascinating flying the plane onto the deck of a carrier...crashed every time! Also got to get into an A6 jet (pilot and all and roared down the runway...Not allowed by Navy regulations to actually take off, but it felt like it...a real thrill!!
GLENEAGLE
HARBOUR POINTE
Course was at one time owned by Eddie Hanson(Law School classmate who later practiced in Everett, Wash): A beautiful, but tough course, with only one hole with a sound view(#15 signature hole that drops over the hill to green below on 2d shot): Played initially with Mom and later same year(2006) with Joe Bush and Ed following law school reunion in new law school on UW campus in Sept 2006.
KAYAK POINT
LAKE PADDEN
ORCAS ISLAND
PEACE PORTAL
POINT ROBERTS
Played this course with Mom…fairly hilly and tight fairways. Must go through Vancouver, B.C. to get to the course. Was there on bar business. Met Bill and Marsha after the round at the Marina as they had sailed there from Biz Point near Anacortes that day...Had a delightful dinner on the marine drive.
SEMIAHMOO
SIMILK BEACH
SUDDEN VALLEY
Played this course with Brett and Mac in a rainstorm, but played well...hit the turn at 2 under (!), but downpour got to me by 17 and 18...finished with 74. (BRETT: I remember this as one of those we remember Dad would be the only one that could keep hitting it in the right direction, and Dad became famous for his rain play).
